NEW DELHI For nearly 30 years, India and Bangladesh have argued over control of a tiny rock island in the Bay of Bengal. Now rising sea levels have resolved the dispute for them: the island's gone.

119, seeing how Dokdo is the single most important cultural and national icon in Korea, I find it insulting to even think about it being lost to the ocean.

Mods, please delete this thread as it is an appropriate attempt at dark humor.

You all do realize that there is national gas off the shore of Dok Island. There are real economic reason, not just petty nationalistic reasons why Korea and Japan are fighting for.

There was a huge advert in the Korea Times the other day telling people that they should all turn to nuclear power because this alone would stop global warming and prevent dokdo from vanishing into the sea.

He was trying to convey that the bolded line was sarcastic.

Are only inappropriate attempts at dark humor tolerated?

Seriously though (and I mean that sincerely!) I think VANK should be more involved with promoting this issue. I mean, all Koreans and New Yorkers (yeah, I don't know, they just seem to like advertising this stuff there) should start a big VANK fest to raise awareness about Dokdo. It'd be great! And, as a side effect, a lot of people will get a chance to join the group VANK.

Whatever happens, it should happen quickly. As the quoted article indicates, sea levels are rising.

Nuh-uh. He wouldn't parody the request for mod intervention unless he didn't know the guy asking for mod intervention was parodying that kind of request himself. Otherwise, he'd just be using Bibbity's joke a second time.

And more obviously, no one had missed the sarcasm line yet at the time Capn posted. Check the posts above him, dawg.

Mods, please eat Triban's children as punishment for their father's violation of the terms of sarcasm.
