Yeah, that sounds pretty damned good...but a #1? Remember, he's got to compete with a lot of crap...very popular crap nonetheless.

The Boss has always been No. 1 in my book but don't expect today's airhead generation to rally to the charts for him.

Doubt most have even heard his album Born to Run.

I enjoyed that. Very Happy Thanks.

Sounds like he was playing with the Dave Mathews Band with the eclectic mix of trombones, violin, drums, guitars and...

you can't go wrong with a banjo Wink

I've played "Born to Run" (from his greatest hits DVD) in my tech high classes to illustrate the idea that a rock musician's job is "exciting"...

For my "teachers' class" I showed "Born In the U.S.A." and explained that it was really an anti-Viet nam war song. Probably wasn't such a good idea on my part to give the Korean teachers copies of the lyrics asserting that Americans went there to "kill the yellow man"...

Agreed. Then his work on the Philadelphia soundtrack was the coffin nailed down.

Bruce is a great artist, no doubt, but his time has gone.

Not the song but the album.

The RISING went #1, so did a few he's released since.

Even Dylan's recent MODERN TIMES went #1.

This particular version of ATLANTICK CITY sounds a lot like Dylan's TOMBSTONE BLUES Idea

hahahhaha WHATEVER!!! you guys have no clue what you are talking about! BRUCE keeps reinventing himself everytime..
just listen to his albums of the years!
bruce has been the all American singer for 30 years and keeps packing concerts all over the world...

how can anyone with even the slightest taste in music say the streets of philidephia song sucked!

Its always funny when people get on here and diss great artists but never mention one who is worthy in their eyes..

And I found this which I think is also kinda cool:

(I wouldn't have expected to get on a little banjo kick this Sunday afternoon, but there we go. To make it even weirder, it's my birthday. Everyone say happy b-day to me because I'm attention-starved.)
