Can anyone recommend a store in Yongsan or anywhere else in Seoul where I can buy Macbook memory replacement chips (or other Mac friendly accessories, maybe even a HD upgrade)? I could order overseas but the wait and possible tariffs may make it worth my while to shop local.

I don't have any specific store suggestion, but Macbooks use the same memory and hard drives as any other laptop. To upgrade your hard drive, you can put any 2.5" HDD in your laptop. Depending on how old your Macbook is, you will need either DDR2 or DDR3 laptop memory. To see if you need DDR2 or DDR3, click the apple icon in the top-left then "About This Mac." In the window that pops up, it will say what kind of memory you have.

any vendor at yongsan or technomart will have the memory. if you are too lazy or busy to go there order it from online. gmarket or any electronics site has it to buy and ships domestically

Yep. I just upgraded two Macbooks. One was an older gen version. Bought Samsung PC5300 DDR2 and worked fine. Just make sure you get the memory for LAPTOP, they will of course, be much smaller. Apple website has a memory matching tool.
