I assume you already have the Korean wife and more than 2 years on your F2? I was too lazy to check your prior posts.
Have your wife call the Suwon office and ask what THEY want from you.
Oh, and get the NAME of the person on the phone so you have some reference when they ask for something different (and they will).
TOB55 had a couple good threads in this regard as well if you can find them.

I just wanted to say "thank you" to all the folks who have posted in this thread with info on how to get the F-5 without hassles. I just received mine, and it only took a week and half.
If anyone else needs helpful info for getting their F-5 in the future, feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to send you the list of all the papers and stuff I got together and brought for my F-5 application.
Thanks again everyone! |

I have had a F2-1 visa for about 2 and a half years, and the Korean wife longer than that. |

I was renewing my F2 earlier in the week with my wife and she asked about changing over to an F5. We were told that after I qualify for the 2 years (in about a month) we would only need the same documents as for an F2 plus proof of 30mil won (the difficult bit). There was no mention of language skills or test.
An additional question, I was going to start a thread but will ask here. What are the advantages of an F5 over an F2? |

1. No more visits to Immi
2. Voting local elections
3. Independence from your wife
4. Stand in the Korean line at the Airport! |

The wife and I went to immigration today in Suwon for my F5-2 interview.
The man behind the counter didn't ask me anything. The wife had to fill out some paperwork, and give to him. He told her that he wasn't sure if I was eligible for the F 5 visa, but if I was it would take 5 or 6 months to process. We paid for the stamps. and I left my passport, alien registration card, and most of all my fate in the hands of the immigration guy. He told my wife they will contact her when they find out if I am eligible ( I have had my F2-1 visa for about 2.5 years). He also told her, that if we had cjhildren the processing time would be faster. |

I've been out of Korea since September 2013. The wife and I are planning on visiting in July for about a month. Will my F5-2 visa still be valid ? |

You could call immigration hotline and find out. I suspect no. To my knowledge, you had to reside in Korea for 6 months out of the year to keep it.

Do you have, or have you previously had an F5 visa? |
