Some of my adult students want to listen to a southern accent. The only show I can think of is True Blood. Any others would be great.

"Treme", a new show about music and life in post-Katrina New Orleans. Same team behind "The Wire".

Please, please, please don't show them the Beverly Hillbillies. Let's not get that stereotype started. Smile

I second Designing Women. Dixie Carter is from Tennessee and has a genuine Southern accent. She died just a few days ago.

Grace Under Fire.

You could show them the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Laughing

I don't know why someone mentioned Golden Girls. It's a funny show but the only one who has a "southern" accent is Blanche and hers sounds over the top and contrived to me.

Redneck jokes galore. They'd learn "Get 'er done!" pretty easily.

Along the same lines..."Are You Smarter..." They could try to answer the questions as well.

Pop in a recording of any Paula Dean cooking show.
