fridae.com is a good place to start. finding some semblance of a social scene in seoul shouldn't be too hard provided your expectations aren't too high.

First, I live in a small-ish town of about 200,000, and I've never seen another gay guy... well, I see guys that I think are gay by Western standards, but several other people have already commented on that.

When I first got here, I found the adjustment very, very difficult. I was used to being out and having easy access to a healthy community.

I ended up finding some bars in some other big cities (not Seoul) but even those bars (in cities with more than 1 million people) were incredibly tiny. After a few visits it felt like I had met everyone.

In the last year, I've dated two guys (in Seoul).

It was hard. I'd dated cross-culturally before in America but it was certainly different in Korea. One guy was mortified that someone might find out he was gay, so I couldn't talk in his apartment (in case a neighbor heard) or come close to him out in public (and I'm not even a PDA kinda guy). And of course, there are cultural differences. Subtleties and humor get lost on one another.

Neither guy was Mr. Right and I didn't pursue either one, but if I had, I would guess that it would have been very, very difficult for many reasons.

Not many things make me miss America, but sexual freedom is certainly one of them.

2 is too many, i have been here for 3 years and only dated one. Smile
Sexual freedom has many meanings man. if you don't really look for a serious relationship, which i bet by your way of typing NOT, maybe just don't date at all.

And dating korean is not easy! since "korean korean" are pretty conservative about expressing themselves.
