You can probably go to the microsoft shop online, pay for it, and download it through there.
Another free, legal, alternative is Open Office. http://www.openoffice.org |

I downloaded openoffice and when I saved the document i used, I "save as" it as a word document, which option you can choose on the drop-down list
Then you have a word doc |

Open Office combined with Google Docs or Zoho is an excellent option that's free 100%. Google and Zoho are really great because you can access your documents from anywhere.
Another option that comes in handy for accessibility is using Dropbox to synchronize your documents across computers. Really helps me keep my work and personal computers up to date with my most recent docs. |
