Hi,

I was planning to do some shopping in Myeong dong tomorrow. Can somebody confirm that the shops will actually be open?

Thanks... Smile

I haven't heard of shops closing on Children's day. In fact, it's the opposite. Parents takes their kids to the store to buy them gifts. I avoid the stores and most public places at all costs on 'Kids Day.

I'm going to hang low in my apartuhmentuh and teachee no Englishee as I enjoy chun won orangee. Outside of food, shopping interests me about as much as the thought of sitting 15 hours on an airplane or bus.

All of the museums and historical sites will be flooded with children. Expect Coex to be especially bad. Why?

In celebration of Childrens Day, there will be free admission to the COEX aquarium on May 5.

And here I'd thought nothing would be open!

There's supposed to be some sort of touristy Han river boat tour that goes past all the bridges - anyone know if that would also be open? I'm showing my parents around Seoul.

Chuseok and Lunar New year are the only holidays where almost everything closes.
