some friends have a long-ish layover in Incheon next wknd. haven't seen them in a couple yrs and am planning to meet them and try to help them make the most of their time here. i'd love some suggestions on what to do. any ideas? oh yeah, their flight arrives at 7am and leaves at 6pm. next wknd, can't remember if it's sat or sunday..... |

A bit tight. You can expect them to arrive somewhere in Seoul around 9 AM and then they'll head back to Incheon airport around 3:00 (or even earlier)...so it's more like six hours in Seoul.
I can't see you doing very much in that time. Maybe visiting a palace in downtown and then walking around Insadong and having lunch at a bibimbap place, maybe with some mak gul li. I would stick to downtown, though. Maybe you could do a palace (I forget which is nearest to Anguk - Gyeongbokgung?), then the Jogyesa temple, then Insadong/lunch. |

At Incheon airport, there is a desk for 'transit tours', where they offer tours that vary in length from a few hours to full days. I have never heard of anyone doing one, but it's worth looking into.

Hmm...just noticed they're kinda pricey for what you get if you already know Korea.
If you feel like doing something outdoorsy, there is a city bus that leaves Incheon Airport that goes to Muuido. |
