I have bipolar I disorder. Does anyone know of anyone who's been given a visa to teach in Korea that has my condition (or a similar one). I'm getting a doctor's note explaining that I'm on medication, will be on medication, and that I am and will be completely stable.

Basically, do you know of anyone who has answered "yes" to the question on the self health check form about having been treated for an "emotional, mental, etc." disorder?

This HAS come up before.

Short answers (and no judgment intended).

IF you answer yes to the question on the self medical questionnaire your visa application WILL be denied without further question or recourse.

IF you answer no you will be committing visa fraud but your chances of being caught are small as long as your meds do not show up on the tox screen that you need to do to get your ARC.

If you are willing to take that risk, then come to Korea.

If you are NOT willing to take that risk (however small it is) then there are other countries that do NOT require a medical or screening (like Thailand, Japan, et al.)
