I'm in Gapyong, east of Seoul. It is pretty nice here. I forget the name of the actual town Im in (hah I know), but like 20 minutes from here there is easy access to the river. I've seen boat docks there and bungee jumping There is also a lake not far from here, Lake Senjong (I think?) that is also pretty nice. You can hike around it, there are waterfalls in the area, and you can rent paddle boats on the lake. |

Unfortunately Koreans have largely destroyed the natural charm of their rivers. Lining them and paving the edges with sterile concrete will do that.
Where are the shady willow trees, the bullrushes, the reeds, the frogs, the fish? Bulldozed away. |

Seoul is working on becoming a more beautiful city, so we might get some of those things. I'm not sure if the Han river ever had bullrushes and frogs, though.
The river in my town is being renovated drastically. I honestly expect Korea to be known for having beautiful scenery within the next ten years or so. Fingers crossed. |

Hangang river parks are cool.
Check out the park at Banpo (Banpo bridge) the area is decent, and the parks at Jamshil and just East of Apgujeong Station. That's the city. outside, I'm not too sure. |
