|
|
I just bought a MSI notebook with the help of my Korean friend. Although she wasn't familiar with the brand, the customer reviews that were on the product page were mostly positive. I'm just wondering if anyone here has experience with MSI and could tell me what to expect when I get mine.
Thanks |

I've had an MSI Wind netbook for 2 years. It has been amazing. I've never had any issues with it.
The only gripes I have is with the build quality. It has a broken hinge and the mouse clicker is loose, so it double clicks accidentally sometimes. They've probably sorted those issues in 2 years, though.
What exactly is the model? The best place to look for reviews in on Amazon. In any case, I wouldn't worry too much.
Consumer grade computers are so competitive these days that it's quite difficult to buy a dud, or get ripped off. |

True. All the main laptop manufacturers, and MSI is one of them, are making high-quality laptops nowadays. The components inside are often identical from one brand to another. However, the case, screen, and battery can vary in quality. But you should be ok. |

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure on the model, but the specs were good enough for me. I'm thinking it might be an X340... |

Beware any of the X-models. They are nice and slim (thus the X-Slim branding) and so incredibly light with the 13-inch models being a bit thicker than a macbook air, but the keyboards are HORRIBLE. Easily the worst I've ever used. Press one key and the entire keyboard mushes in. I had one and quickly got rid of it. I now use a 12-inch Asus netbook with NVidia ION graphics and it runs circles around the MSI in terms of video performance and build quality. Ever since using a chiclet keyboard a standard keyboard is pretty much out of the question for me, especially ones that cave in like the X-Slim series. |

I just got it and learned that its a Wind12. So far everything seems to run decently. Now I just need to figure out how to get MS Office in a cheap manner... |
