I did a search and did not find anything. Do you know the best company for a calling card. I am specifically looking for my parents. I need calling cards for the US to call me in SK on a mobile.

Can anyone recommend a good company?

Forget the international calling cards. They aren't that great here and most charge even if the call is not picked up.

Best option is through skype. I make a tonne of international calls and at 1 to 2.2 cents a minute it is by far the best deal going!

Calling an SK mobile is a different beast. There is actually a premium in SK to call mobile phones. I think doing so is 6 or 8 cents a minute.
Most of us are never in a position to do that though. If you look at Skype's rates you'll see they have 2 rates for Korea, one for landlines and one for mobile phones.

I second Skype. I don't know where you're from. But I pay $6.00 a month on Skype and I can call any North American phone(landline or cellular) from South Korea. And if your parents have a webcam at home they can video chat with you. Much better than calling on the phone. I've noticed that even in the small town I'm in in central Korea has such fast internet that the video chat on Skype works better than with broadband in the U.S.

I looked at Skype and it does seem better. I like the Skype to go feature that I can use my mobile to call my family and vice versa.

What type of plans do most people get. I would be calling my parents on their mobile phone in the US and they would be calling me on my mobile phone.

Which plan do most people get: the global unlimited or pay as you go? It looks like the pay as you go has a connection fee and the global unlimited you can only call landlines in Korea.

Is my information accurate?

Thanks in advance for the info.

I have the unlimited north american package
but unlimited packages won't cover calls to mobile phones in Korea because of the price difference.

Would that package work for me if I would like to make a phone call on my mobile in Korea to the US?

Don't know. If you were using an android or iphone with skype installed definitely. I've used it on my ipod touch.
Another mobile, I don't know. I haven't tried it. Maybe someone else has.

Thanks for the info. One last question. If I use a US # and when I am out have the calls forwarded to my mobile how much does it usually cost per minute for the phone call?
