Scientists claim that they have revived a sailor, a member of the 1845 expedition led by Sir John Franklin, in 153 years since he died of an unidentified disease during the expedition on Jan. 1, 1846.
However, other scientists insist that all this is "liar" in view of current level of technology.
Frozen human has been again spotlighted due to a story that a drunk man frozen to death
came to life and ran away when it was warmed at a room in Russia.
Actually, the man regained breath from semi-suspended animation amid slower metabolism caused by rapid sharp drop of temperature rather than he died from the cold.
It is presumed that the semi-suspended metabolism was possible as the temperature was not controlled by outside cold due to alcohol. Scientists believe that human beings can be hibernated to some extent if such condition is well applied to the body. |
And this guy is a famous mummy! |

And to think the Weekly World News went out of business. What's next batboy visits Kyungju, President Kim Jong Il visits with Aliens.

If it hasn't already been hammered in, then this is the last nail in the coffin of any credibility of the Korea Times. |

The KT seems to have hired a bunch of high school seniors recently. The English has gotten ridiculous! (regardless of the subject matter)
But in my opinion it has made the paper more fun to read, and English learning Koreans (the intended audience) probably think so too.
Before the KT was offensive because it looked and smelled like a real paper but was filled with stupid shit. Now it is clear that it is not a real paper at all. So it can be fun for everybody!
I would love a simple, easy to read Korean-language short-form paper with stories about celebrities' asses and Chinese sex-hackers and translations of each article. That would make learning a lot more fun!
That said, there are too many mistakes. But for the lower-level learners, probably not a terrible way to practice reading news. Give up! Embrace the times for what it is! The time for mocking is past. |

This is nothing. A while back they had an article claiming alien remains had been discovered. |

Hehe.. Christmas came early. What a joyous feeling, seeing the KT make a fool of itself, again. And look at the fellow.. isn't he the picture of health?
I remember in 1983 when they found the remains of the Franklin expedition, after they froze to death trying to make a northwest passage through the Arctic. The picture still scares me.

That's probably not lifted from the tabloid papers, who at least have fluent writers. Otherwise, I'm enjoying the Onion / Weekly World News / KT merger. Besides, the KT's columns already all look like they were written by Ed Anger. |

Amazing these guys are either Hi-jacking the news paper or they hired morons. I am amazed at a professional paper not understanding the verb (to proof-read)! |
