I just got news that my CT's original plans for a one week summer camp has been overridden by the MOE in Busan and now we are all required to have a three week long set summer camp, which is pure evil, since most folks take their trips home around now and it leaves only one week to take their vacation days. Regardless, my CT's are pissed that their original plans are being pushed aside and openly admitted to me that they are not going to advertise the camp in hopes that not enough students will sign up. IF that happens, does anyone know if we'll be off the hook on that, able to set up our own camps (my CT's idea of a reading and writing camp is pretty solid if you look at her lesson plan) or will I (the only guy in the school able to make proper essay corrections) be sent to labor at another school's three week stint?

Regardless of how many camps they set you up with, you can still get your full vacation days. It's just that you have to take them during regularly scheduled classes.

Ulsan is the same way. Three week camp, plus a week at school. I'm going to miss two weeks of regular classes just to do these camps. I also missed classes last February for my winter vacation.

Camps are awesome, though. Relaxed teaching, tons of games, free meals. The only difficulty is the hours, though you get paid OT for those. Plus no Saturday or Sunday teaching, either.
