| Smartphones are little more than toys that hinder more productivity than they promote. Instead of using those little breaks in your day to, y'know, think, now you just "whip out" your smartphone and play a game/check your GPS coordinates (useful!)/make some boobs jiggle (if it had made the cut). Not that there's anything wrong with that. |

For the most part, the Iphone is worth it.
Most of the time I use it to play games or use the Ipod functionality. However, there have been a few times where the smartphone capabilities have proved indespensable.
For example,
Trying to navigate around Seoul. Most people do not live directly next to a subway station. Especially Itaewon/HBC people whose houses are near impossible to find.
Following the route of a taxi driver to make sure he isn't taking the scenic route.
Using Daum Maps to find services near me.
The Iphone really does help me save money. I no longer need a fancy bike computer for my bicycle due to the Cyclometer App. Seoul Bus tells me where the nearest bus stops are, and how long before the bus comes. Very helpful for when I need to decide whether or not to take a Red Bus or take the Subway. If I'm going to be waiting 20 minutes for the next Red Bus, I might as well just take the subway.
Justinl.TV app lets me watch the Office or ATHF, or King of Queens jsut about anywhere. AirVideo apps streams all video from my computer directly to my Iphone wherever i have Wifi.
Yeah, Iphone is totally worth it to me. Right now, I don't recommend anyone get one since the 4th Gen Iphone will be out soon. |
