Where would you go? I have two weeks off in late july with a 1 million won airline ticket budget.

Any ideas?

I love big cities, but I'm not adverse to a lazy beach holiday...

I've done thailand, cambodia, and China and want to experience someplace new...

suggestions?

korea air has tickets to Guam for 650k won -- direct flight.

could also try malaysia/singapore, vietnam, or japan for less than 1 mil.

You can fly to Manila for about 400,000 round trip on Cebu Pacific (their 80,000 each way tickets are sold out).

Then hop around the country on cheap domestic flights to Borocay, Bohol, or Palawan.

That's awesome. I'm hunting for more direct flights such as to Bali in particular, but even the pricey tickets force you to long 6 to 14 hour long lay overs wasting 1 to 2 days of my precious 10 calendar days. Any search I do, except Tokyo and Beijing, they are always routing it with connecting flights somewhere down the line instead of offering the direct flights. China is dirt cheap to fly to while every where else seems a bit steep on the fares.

My Heart is saying Japan, my head is screaming no! Has anyone done two weeks in Japan?

Is it worth getting the rail pass? Maybe I'll start at fukoka and work my way up?

The cost is making me wary though. Has anyone couch surfed?

You've done China eh?

You can do India in a few days then, hop over and do Sri Lanka and still have an extra week to do Malaysia and Indonesia by cheap trains and boats from Bangkok (the city you can get connections through cheaply).

Tourist.

you misunderstand by done I mean that I've been there and want to see someplace new not that i've seen every nook and cranny and explored every inch of the country.

I haven't done that with any country, even my own. I have just decided that I would rather see what a new country has to offer rather than go back and see more of some place I've already been.

I'd rather visit 100 countries and get a taste of it than know one country intmately.

Tourist, indeed.

If you searches are always routing you with long delays then you should quit using north American search engines.

There are LOADS of direct flights from Incheon to EVERY country (and major tourist destination) in east and SE Asia as well as most of the middle east and lots of Europe.

Try using the airline's own websites to give you flight and schedule information then an agency like whypaymore.com or 072.com to get your best deal on a flight.

There are direct flights to Phuket, Manila, Cebu, Clark, Bangkok, KL, Kota Kinbalu, Singapore, Jakarta, Penang, HCMC, to name but a few. I am sure that one of the 2 Korean airlines flies direct to Bali at least a couple times per week as well.

haha i'm trying to answer this same question myself. I have the first two weeks of August. I love Thailand but I've been there around 6 times already. There's tons more to see...but I'd also like to hit up some places I'm less familiar with. I've never been to Indonesia or the Phillipines, but I'd like to wait until my contract is finished so I can spend a month or two in each. Hmmm...tough question. I'm thinking laying on the beach is in order.
