You can subsribe to the Economist in Korea, costs about the same as subscribing in North America. Only difference is you'll get your copy on a Tuesday or Wednesday (instead of Friday or Saturday here in the States).

Any tips on getting a free subscription?

My coworker, who's office is next to mine, got a free subscription to TIME. All he had to do was let the Time lady talk to his classes for 5 minutes or so. I'm annoyed she didn't hit me up.

Is there anyway I can get the Economist rep to hit my university and give me a free subscription next semester?

I used to have a National Geographic subscription in Korea. I think it was about 35 bucks a year, well worth the price.

I read a Korean magazine, Den The Gentleman's Magazine. The stated theme of the magazine is compatible with me:

'Denman' is a newly coined word that refers to a financially and socially successful gentleman who takes time to enjoy life.
The word 'denman' combines 'den' derived from a Korean luxury men's magazine and 'man' from the word gentleman.

Today, the conventional gentleman refers to a well-mannered man or a 'nice guy'.
A denman is a well-educated gentleman who is financially secure, is knowledgable on a broad range of issues, and is interested in culture and art.
He expresses his own style in fashion and is also noted for his keen sense of humor and wit.
A typical denman is popular, well mannered, considerate, and is held in high regard by his peers.

This Denman fella sounds about as much fun as a dose of the clap.

In the Maritimes in Canada the copy arrives on Tuesday if I'm lucky, Thursday when I'm not. Canada Post sucks. I miss Korea's almost guaranteed Tuesday delivery.

Nothing says sophistication like a pretentious magazine having an online store called Gentpia.
