Has anyone ever worked with the recruiters Jeju esl? (jejuesl.com)
I am hoping to get a job on the island in the fall and this company seems to be the best way to go about it.
Any other suggestions on how to find work on the island? All the job boards I've visited seem to only have this company advertising for the island.
thanks,
Marty |

| I used them, but didn't end up working on the island due to having non-standard dates. The guy I worked with was Jason and he was spot on. Kept me updated, made sure all was good before I left, and got in contact when I arrived. Not a problem. I think if you want to work on the island though, you have to be within some pretty specific dates. |

I would also vouch for Jason Smith. I am in the process of getting a job through JejuESL, and I find them to be a much better agency than most. But I also am not taking a job on Jeju. They do lots of placements all over Korea. Still it's a good place to start if that is where you want to work.
There was another outfit I found on the job board that claimed to do recruiting for Jeju EPIK. I filled out the application and never heard from them again. Easily found EPIK work elsewhere though. |

| I got my first job from Jason, although not in Jeju. He was straightforward and easy to work with. The job and conditions were close enough to exactly as advertised. |

| I tried for Jeju but the offer fell through and then I went with something else near Busan. I have noticed also that many jobs in Jeju pay much less than you can find elsewhere. |

| I can also add that Jason was one of the best recruiters I have worked with. I was trying to go to Jeju as well, but then he came back with a job offer from a school that was going to give me a crazy amount of paid vacation. Thus I ended up in Seoul instead of Jeju. |

Why didn't I go to Jeju? There aren't a lot of jobs there. The average salary looks lower than the mainland. I heard the hagwons there are perhaps even more unreliable than most.
In the end, getting a decent job was more important to me than going to Jeju. |

I didn't take the job he found me due to location but Jason Smith is a good recruiter!
And in the recruiter circuit, he is known as one of the good ones! |

| A ticket to a paid island vacation! I wonder if it's a more pleasant easy going culture down there on the island? Might be worth a rolling the dice on if you don't mind be farthest from Seoul. |
