No.
Okay. On a serious note, what Korean computer (heck- any) company has strayed from the "follow the herd" mentality which poisoned the IT community?
When will they stop seeing the iPad/iPhone as a status symbol and more as a tool of efficiency?
When will the Korean companies make products intended for use OUTSIDE KOREA *COUGH- HWP COUGH COUGH* |

Umm, the Seoul Bus app which is freaking awesome, and free, was written by a 16 year old Korean kid.
Hate to burst your "Korea has no talent" bubble.
Oh yeah, Gomplayer is pretty good too and its used pretty heavily outside of Korea. |

Wacky govt crap like this always fails. But, really. Who cares?
Cowon is pretty well loved amongst tech types. Gizmodo and Engadget are always lamenting that they pulled out of the US market.
Steve Jobs is a charismatic fellow who probably sells a lot of product simply because of that. But, who cares because Korea makes plenty of decent product with uncharismatic adjushis as CEOs. It's the product that matters, not the dude making the keynote speeches.
The govt will always cock it up, the sooner they get out of the way and let the big boys do their stuff, the better. |

The problem is the Korea lacks hackers and the hacker mentality. Steve Jobs started out as a guy who was messing around with computers in a garage. Saying how can we make this better or even how does this work. That kind of mind and behavior I do not see often here in Korea. Most kids are so cookie cutter they rarely have an original thought.
Korea thinks they can just assign or give some one a title and bam they are it. |

Excellent example! The Seoul Bus app is used by millions outside of Korea!
I didn't specifically say "Korea has no talent"
My comments leaned toward "Korea lacks innovation" which I'm sure you have heard before
I have a question: does Gomplayer run on a platform other than windows, like VLC?

Look pkang, languistic
You guys fail to notice that Korea doesn't lack the ability, it lacks the ambition due to a lack of interest, fear of the unknown, and fear of failure. This government program is laughable. It won't create a Steve Jobs, Steve Jobs/Bill Gates create themselves |

I'm sure if they looked hard enough, Korea could also find a skinny, smug, self-congratulating little gimp to pawn their mid-range tech. |
