Or know anyone who has ?
I am thinking of pursuing an MA Tesol (not online) and would like to do it in my home country. I hear Birmingham has a good reputation but I think the expense of living in England would be too much.
I would just like to get some peoples responses to the course if any one recieved there MA from this university.
Thanks, |

Also is there a certain preference for an MA from particular universities or is not really relevant ?
Thanks ! |

I didn't even know that DCU had an MA TESOL program. It must be fairly new, I'm assuming? DO you have a link to it, couldn't find anything during a quick browse of the site.
I would recommend doing one by distance and keep working if you can. Apart from the money coming in, you can apply the theory you learn in textbooks immediately, and also you see straightaway what doesn't apply to your context. It also means you have lots of ready and willing subjects for your thesis.
Alternatively, do one through a Korean uni. Cheaper fees, but weighed against it being less prestigious once you actually get it. I'll be finished mine (from a Korean uni, not even a very good one) this December. I figure as long as I do a good thesis, that will talk much more to prospective employers than where the degree came from - I mean "I hope". |
