|
|
Hey I've been having a hard time finding any posts on the topic, does anyone know where I should go to get my external HD restored? It's a Samsung 300GB which now for some reason won't mount on my mac.
I get an "invalid Node Structure" when trying to repair it with Disk Utility. It has some really important things on it that I had put there in case of my macbook crapping out :s.
It may be irreparable but I'm going to buy another big one anyways I'm hoping I could just load the salvageable stuff onto.
Thoughts?
Appreciated^^ |

Take it to your local PC shop that speaks English. They have software you don't have access to to fix it. They'll probably have to do an FDisk. |

When my HD in my mac died, I went to JR Mac. Maybe it's more than what you need, but they will know mac stuff. They asked me if I wanted them to try to restore the crashed drive, but I said no, as the only important thing was photos. Anyway, I recommend them. This was before macs were becoming popular in Korea. I've been seeing them a lot more, so maybe any old place can now work on mac stuff.

Thanks a lot. I'll search out a local PC shop first to see if they can help me or not before going to a mac specific shop, as it's just an external I need restored and nothing in my actual macbook. It might have to wait a bit though cause I guess I'll need to have another HD to move the restored stuff to? |

Yeah- I found a person that helped me out when my HDD died..
you should have a clean HDD to transfer all that stuff to. Buy it yourself, that will be best |

How much did that cost you?
Anyone else have any idea how much I can expect to pay? I'm sure it depends on what exactly is wrong with it but a ballpark figure would help.
Thanks again. |
