I never knew how one sided these evaluations were. I always thought my school was weird but, apparently the KETS are encouraged to scapegoat us.

Yes, I think it's important that all GET's get to see how many ways they can be discarded - if their school doesn't like them.

Beware on that end....if your co-teachers like you and so does the staff....you'll get renenwed automatically.

On the other hand, My new co-teacher found so many ways to ding me within 2.5 months that I wasn't recontacted.

Fun and interesting Code= Mr. Bean video's, Games Games and more games Youtube football Bloopers

Fear of foreigners= Don't teach like a Korean teacher, don't punish or get angry just clown around like Isaac from Arirang TV.

The Funny thing is I've heard so many Korean teachers complain we are not strict enough or kill too much time with youtube video.

What is missing in their feedback is consistancy

I totally agree with that, been in Korea three and a half years, second year at this public school. I also worked part time in two others, most people like me, only one head English teacher doesn't, she has had no impact. They asked me to resign, but I just need a break, give EPIK time and they will put the program over a cliff, maybe its just a way to get someone new every year to keep the price down.

Here's one of my pet peves, and one that I will fail on 100%.

Evaluation support:
Does the GET help the co-teacher in assessing the students effectively?

I don't believe that, as a GET, I am qualified to assess my students (on anything that will have a major effect on their futures).

I am not a teacher. I don't hold a teaching qualification (just a language teaching certificate), therefore, I am not qualified, nor have I been trained to access students. The Korean govt, teachers, students, and parents don't consider me a 'real' teacher (I'm an assistant), so why am I being assessed on whether I've assessed students? This is soley the job of the qualified and certified Korean teachers.
