| I want to go on DMZ tour that includes panmunjeom, however I live in the whops and can't get to Seoul in time for the USO tour on Saturday morning. Does anyone know of a private tour that goes to panmunjeom on a Sunday? |

| Pretty sure mine wasn't a USO tour. Call a korean travel agency and check it out. |

If you go to the KNTO website at www.tour2korea.com They offer a range of options. I believe tours also run from Imjigak into the DMZ. It is still on my list of things to do. |

I don't think it is possible, as you have to be escorted by the U.S. military. Korean civilians cannot go to Panmunjeom. |

| And for this reason I believe the USO tours have access to areas that the other tours do not. At least that's the way it used to be. |

Well, good news for you- you heard wrong
USO MARCH SCHEDULE
[It looks like you may need MS-Excel to view this page but in a nutshell the tours are on Tuesdays and Saturdays]
Main site:
http://www.uso.org/Korea/
And yes- Korean nationals CAN go on USO Panmunjom tours, but special arrangments need to be made (see website for details). |

don't listen to the above posts... all wrong.
just go to Lotte hotel and ask for directions to the travel agents in the hotel (they are on level 1 or 2 i think). you need to book at least the day before and take your passport. the tours run from there take you everwhere.... didn't think i would actually get to go the village on the boarder but yes... right to the actual border. best tour i have ever been on. no one should come to korea and miss it.
on the tour i was the only english speaking person but the company had made sure that an english speaking tour guide was on my bus. she told me that she only works part time when there are english speaking people going on the tour.
you even get lunch on the US base... not bad actually. and an american soldier escorts every tour around the base and border area. so even if you get a bad tour guide you can chatt to a GI. the GI is there to make sure you don't piss off the North Koreans. you are allowed to take pictures of them but not wave at them... go figure. |
