| Would you recommend an ereader in South Korea, or would reading on your computer be better/cheaper/less hassle/less conspicuous? I'm worried about it getting stolen, or being an extra pound or two that could be better used in my suitcase/carry on. |
I have the iriver story, i love it. I am currently building up my library now. I wish people would name the files consistently, the amount of time I have wasted renaming files. |
I recently got an iriver story myself, and I found a program that is very useful for managing files for it: Calibre. When you add books to your Calibre library, it formats them into a naming system set by you (for example, I have it name my ebooks title [author]). Further, it can automatically send books to your iriver story, and can sort them into folders according to any system you choose (again, for example, I have it sort all books into folders according to their authors name, but you could just as easily have it sort them according to tags you yourself add to the books). It also has the option to download metadata for books, but I don't use this personally.
The program is a bit slow, but it works pretty well, and best of all can very effectively, quickly, and accurately mass-convert pdfs to epubs, allowing you to both save memory space, and use the superior zoom function for epubs (I hate the iriver's pdf zoom).

| I downloaded the 13130 science fiction and fantasy books torrent, (if you Google the number, you will find the torrent) and the thirteen or so updates since it's completion. I doubt I could read all of them if I did nothing but read for the rest of my life. Some are not formatted so well, but I've yet to encounter one that's incomplete. |
Thank you so much for this tip off. I downloaded the collection with all the updates, and it's very impressive. I had anticipated a lot of potentially interesting stuff by little known writers. Getting that plus a huge volume of classic literature by some authors I really love is just incredible. |

follow the directions for searching and downloading.
maybe 100,000 titles for downloading in many different categories. |
2 years ago I downloaded MIRC and tried but it ended up being a disaster. I juts had no idea how to use it. It looked really complicated and I couldn't find anything on Google in the way of explanations that made sense to me.
Maybe I'll give it another go and see if I can figure it out. |
