| I am looking for a new place to live, and I saw an apartment behind the Yongsan army base. The apartment actually overlooks the playing fields at the back. I'm a bit worried about the potential noise in that area. Does anybody have any idea how noisy it will be there? |

| I'd be more worried about the construction and demolition all around Yongsan that any noise coming from the base itself. Ask about which buildings in the area are slated for the wrecking ball first. Some of those crews are up at 6:00 AM and go until midnight. |

I have a friend who lives in the Yongsan area, right in front of a school yard, and she often complains of noise. The sound tends to carry more because it is a bigger space, with kids making much of the noise during the day and evening, punks making noise late into the night, and groups meeting for powwows early in the morning do group chants and cheers, sometimes accompanied by megaphones.
In my experience however, the playing fields on base have been calm and quiet after dark. |
