If anyone, Manson is the one who should be freed, if he's still alive. He didn't kill anyone. |

Well that should start an interesting discussion. |

Hey, neither did Hitler. |

And he wasn't convicted of murder. See what I mean? Thanks for proving my point. |

Ever hear of conspiracy? And, no, not the type you dredge up on a daily basis here. |

What "type" would that be? Oh, you mean the type you are unable to refute. OK.
This is why conspiracy laws are BS thought crimes. If I tell you to kill someone and you are stupid enough to do it, I should go to jail for murder??? |

I was hoping for a serious discussion on this. I don't know how the thread turned out this way. |

This is only very trivially true. Hitler wasn't convicted of murder because he was already dead. Had he been alive at Nuremburg, however, he would have been sentenced to death by hanging for war crimes and crimes against humanity amongst other charges. |

Let them rot in jail. For the rest of their lives. |

Of course, you are right. I was just responding to a trivial comment with another trivial comment to prove my point. |

Leslie Van Housten was 19 when she murdered 2 people along with other Manson family members. She's now 60. She's spent her whole adult life in prison and is now an old lady. If not for the notoriety of the Manson murders I believe she would have been released long ago. |

I'd favor a law saying that one cannot serve more time in prison than one's age at the time of the crime.
In her case, she is surely institutionalized now and might not even be able to function on the outside. I would not be surprised if she does not even want out now. |

She's trying to get out on parole now. She's been trying for years and so far has always been denied. |
