I'm leaving Korea next month. My school told me I should make a Citi Bank account here in Korea so when they have to pay me my last check/airfare/severence etc they can just deposit it into the Citi account and then I can withdraw it in the US.
I've read where you can't transfer money from Korean accounts if you are out of the country so I am wondering if this will be a problem, or since it's an international bank it will be fine. |

Your citi Korea account and Citii US account are completely different.
Same bank name doesn't matter |

So I should not do this then? I was under the assumption that I could just give them my bank information back home and they could wire the money, but... |

It does but apparently you can't transfer money once you're outside of Korea, or so I've been told. |

Unless you tell them the bank doesn't know and doesn't really care.
I continue to access my Korean bank accounts and I haven't been back since the spring and don't expect to return till the fall.
