Plus you can't stop the gossip that WILL happen. Women in a school love to talk, especially about the foreigners and even more so about an inter-racial relationship.

Keep it out of the office and keep it a long way from the office for as long as you can.

If it goes wrong, it WILL be yor fault, no matter what happens, so you need an understanding boss. And they are difficult to find.

And a word to the ladies, I know she's being selfish with him until that time comes. Confused

Your eye is focussed in the wrong direction.

Back in America, the summer after my junior year of university (I really hate that I now make the distinction between university and college... thanks all you non-Americans), I was working at a job with my best friend. He ended up using his position in management to get his girlfriend a job. I ended up dating a girl that he hired. The entire place was full of nepotism (I think that's the correct word)... it was completely crazy. Anyway, in that situation it worked out not too badly, but it's not something I really wanna consider.

When I came here, my boss invited me to dinner with the Korean teachers one day. First thing she does is say, "Oh, look how handsome Ryan is... and he's single... and so is Kim sansaengnim and Pak sansaengnim." Made me nervous as hell. I definitely did not want to date a teacher I worked with. Just doesn't seem like a good idea... in an office, situations vary I guess, and should be decided on a case by case basis.

I've noticed that koreans don't baulk at an office romance, probably because they don't really socialise much outside of, or away from, work. Considering they all work 24/7, it doesn't leave them much time.

But the wreckage in the workplace when things don't work out is quite severe... Many Korean women seem to have the emotional maturity of teenagers, so they will date someone for all the wrong reasons, act like princesses during the relationship, and then behave like 16 yr olds when it all goes wrong. Kind of amusing... I've sworn off dating anyone I work with.. unless perhaps i know them very well for a long time...
Problem is, when you arrive in a new job, you are a new face, flavor of the month with the Korean co- workers. they throw themselves at you. You end up in situations with people you barely know.
Then when the bubble bursts a month later, you have to face these people for the rest of your year.
