I'm trying out chrome, and like searching google straight from the address/omni bar at the top, but why does it default to google.co.kr for my results rather than .com or preferably .co.uk?

Ironically I've googled this and have found nothing but pages of this problem rather than a fix, any ideas here guys?

plus all the other results are old, years+ old, there must be a recent fix th
at I can't find!

Cheers Very Happy

I don't know why it does that or how to fix it but try putting google on the bookmark bar at the top. It's probably only a split second slower than how you do it now but you shouldn't experience anymore default problems.

BTW, I really like chrome and use it pretty much exclusively now. My only quibble is when I hit the back button to go back to the previous page, like a news page(for example), it does not take me back to the point of the page I was previously, like the other browsers do, but starts at the top of the page. Sometimes that means a lot of scrolling to find my place again. But no big deal.

The first time you go to google.com, it will redirect you to google.co.kr. If you click "Google.com in English" down bottom, you will be sent to google.com and your browser should remember and send you there from now on. At least that's how it works with the four or five computers I've set it up on.

When I use the back button, most of the time Chrome scrolls down to where I was. It's a bit inconsistent.

Also, check the options. Under "Basic" check what is in the box for "Default Search". Change it to google.co.uk.
