Agreed with what most here say. If you're going to drop 800,000 on a watch, there are lots of decent options that aren't (DKNY, Armani, etc) simple fashion brands who repackage $10 chinese quartz watches.
As already suggested: Seiko, Citizen, Tag, Tissot, and many others make decent watches in that price range.
Also second the suggestion to not buy in Korea. You'll simply pay a lot more here. |
I agree. Seiko and Citizen are two great brands for something under 800, 000. |

Baum Mercier
Breitling
Oris
Tag (but not the lower end...way over done)
Stay off the beaten (down) path of Rolex. Make for a nice retirement gift, or a cash out in Vegas, but other than that, almost considered cheasy these days. |

I love watches buy have never spent more than 100$ on any one.
My current is a weinger swiss military that I've worn everyday for four years without ever changing the battery (we're talking swimming bathing..everything).
I'd also look at Casio or Timex which both have nice watches at the top of their line.
Have fun trying to destroy the Casio G-shock...I loved that watch. |

| I have a Wenger Swiss Military. Swiss made, mineral crystal, not a single scratch on it in two years. It's as good looking as any watch I;ve seen, has been working great. If I was to buy a watch I would get a high end Victorinox Diving watch. |

Omega watches are great. I worry about knock-offs with them, much as with the Movado, Tag, Breitling and Rolexes. Probably why I like the Baum Mercier (depending on the model) and Oris.
Citizen Eco-Drive and even the Swiss military watches are decent and will take a beating. So will Seko or Casio for that matter. For a 'step up', though, it's tough to get anything decent for under a grand. |
