Cool. I've seen Maiden 7 times since 1988. Most recently in Vancouver about 3 weeks ago.

For the first time, shamefully enough, I recently heard Killing Joke's 2006 album, Hosannas from the Basement of Hell.
It's a decidedly metal-esque record, comparable to Rammstein or Fear Factory (but much better). Some of the songs are over-long, but the ideas are stellar and it's probably their best record since their seminal debut in 1980.

Not much into black or death metal. The music is great but I can't stand the vocals. Trying too hard to be scary in my opinion.
I go with the staples. Sabbath, Dio, Maiden, Ozzy, Pantera, Metallica, Judas Priest.
Breaking the law by priest is my Noraebang favorite, plus Walk by Pantera. |

So far my favorite albums of 2010 are:
Burzum - Belus
Witchery - Witchkrieg
Alcest - Ecailles de Lune
Been listening to a lot of Canada's Razor today, especially Shotgun Justice and Evil Invaders. I like thrash. The new Lich King album sounds decent too, they've dropped the 'joke' image. |

Your link led me to:

which makes me happy. Nobody does tight, fast and (especially) cheesy like Dragonforce. Check out the near-2-minutes of guitar wankery starting about two minutes in. |

For good tech-thrash metal, I'm afraid I'm going to have to recommend Vektor:

Don't let the Voi-vod-esque logo fool you, they sound nothing like Voi-vod.
Also, been listening to Death Angel's The Ultra-Violence a lot lately, their best album for sure (hell, it's the only one worth listening to!) - those shrieks are insane, especially on Kill As One.
And those are my thrash metal recommendations for today, folks, kindly carry on... |

| Accept: Blood of the Nations is the best metal album of 2010. Nothing else has or will come close. |

I heard that it's really good, too, must make of download. Opinions on the new Burzum? |
