|
|
Hello,
I have applied to 2 recruiters for ALT jobs in Japan and had problems. I have been told that I am not qualified. I am confused. I have a Bachelor of Education and I am a licensed teacher in Canada with six years teaching experience in Taiwan and Korea, with 4 years in ALT-style teacing positions. When they tell me that I am not qualified I have attempted on both occasions to get them to tell me how I am not qualified, but received no response. Is there something I don't know about?
Also, what is the best resource for jobs in Japan? I can't find anything good. Where should I look for a job?
Thanks, |

1) I guess the first advice is not to use a moniker like taiwanTROLL - these days the average poster has had enough crap.
2) Why go to "Dave's" with the answer, implicit, to your own question? In Japan, as well as most of E. Asia now, being qualified (esp. if you're over 30) is a DISADVANTAGE! Why hire someone who knows what the **** they're talking about when you can get that 22-yr.-old cutie just outta college?
3) Why post this at "Korea Off Topic"?! Not the place.... |

i don't know why they would say that, unless they meant over-qualified or you were applying for some kind of upper-level ALT position. with that said, have you tried asking on gaijinpot.com? they might have more insight about the hiring process than we do... |

I posted here because I can't get on the International forums here and I don't know of any Japanese forums until now. |

You have to register for the International Forums separately from the Korean Forums. You'll find Japan in with the other international ones. |
