OK, most of you thought it was trollish of me to post this so you attacked the messenger instead of the message.
I'm serious. My computer has this going on. Just because your computer doesn't have a split second popup connected to your IM doesn't mean I'm silly and strange. My IM gets slow, then a blank popup comes up for 1 split second, and then IM goes back to regular speed for a minute until it slows down where it can't print text as you type it before the popup comes up again. The popup is blank with a small spinning circle thing in it indicating a data transfer.
No, I'm not making this up. I'm serious as a heart beat. You'd believe me if I showed you what it's doing. I have antivirus and Knightguard. We don't have virus problems. It's one of those kind of things you know happens, but refuse to acknowledge it so you ostracize me for making you uncomfortable. |
YOUR computer may have a virus. Korean internet is notorious for them. My MSN is working great. AVG free anit-virus and a good firewall work wonders. Also DL the Windows Live package and get Messenger Beta. WTF is Knightguard. Any AV or Firewall you PAY for is pointless. Go here http://www.filehippo.com/ update your stuff |

Sad to say it, but I halfway need to agree with our OP. My school computer does it as well, but it is not a key-logger. It is a crap computer getting scanned for viruses or checking for messages on the school wide message board.
Tinfoil is on sale at Top Mart this weekend! |

Key loggers don't work that way. I have wrote stealth keyloggers that transmit log files via SMTP servers. They don't produce pauses or hiccups. They are stealthy. A good keylogger will also take a picture everytime you hit the enter key or left click your mouse as well, and also zip all photos/logs before sending it via SMTP. All of that without producing a single hiccup.
Keyloggers don't have anything to do with applications or programs. They run as daemon processes from the moment you turn your computer on. There isn't a purpose to logging a single application when you can log everything.
I do assume schools use logging devices, either on the PCs themself or by sniffing all network traffic. |
