| The annoying thing is that I'll have to wait until they release it in Korea for apple to release a software update with Korean language input. All of the apps that I used for dictionaries, translators, and Korean practice don't work now. I gave my itouch to my mom when I visited home and got the ipad. Argh! |

| When my net book dies, I will likely replace it with a tablet with Android OS. |

Somebody released a $1 app that is a basic Korean keyboard. It's a separate app (not integrated into the official keyboard), so you have to load it, type, then copy-and-paste into your other app. It might be worth checking out if you don't mind the hassle.
Additionally, if you jailbreak your iPad you might be able to install an integrated Korean keyboard (but I'm not sure it's been developed yet). |

Jailbreaking it would, under normal circumstances, allow you to install the 5-row Korean keyboard.
However, I tried this on my Ipad, and it turns out it doesn't work at all. The iPad needs to have Apple's Korean keyboard built in before jailbreaking it will let you mess with it |

Hey all - just got an iPad and digging it, but having one difficulty.
I can't seem to transfer over old vid files (as in, those not purchased with iTunes). I convert them with either WinAVI or FormatFactory to MP4, and I can add them to the iTunes library (and play them from there), but they are somehow restricted from going to any device - ipod or ipad.
Any ideas?
Is there just some setting I'm not clicking? |

Are they 1080p files? I believe the highest the iPad does is 720p. I have had no problem with most 720p mkv/mp4 files.
Also, have you tried Handbrake? I don't know anything about the apps you mentioned but I believe Handbrake has a built in iPad setting.
Sorry I can't be of much help. |

I messed around with the settings and found that it was on the first page about manually allowing certain files.

Works now.

This is extremely useful to know. I was planning on buying one when I went home but it would be effectively useless to me here. |

Yeah, it's my only real disappointment, especially because I'm actually making a strong effort to practice my Korean and I cant think of anything better than having an actual hangul input so I could type. I really hope the next update brings a hangul keyboard into the mix. I'd love to study on my iPad on the bus rides. |

The Apple iPad has hit a sales rate of 4.5 million units per quarter, according to analysts at Bernstein Research, which is enough to edge out cell phones and gaming hardware as the fourth largest consumer electronics category with an expected $9 billion-plus in US sales next year.
"The iPad did not seem destined to be a runaway product success straight out of the box," wrote Colin McGranahan, an analyst with Bernstein Research. "By any account, the iPad is a runaway success of unprecedented proportion," he added. |
Where are all of the people that said this product would bomb? |
