| I understand things like this are expensive in Korea due to excessive import tariffs. |

Go to apple.com
At the bottom of the screen, you can change your country to look at the prices. 8GB Nano sells for 6,200 THB on the Apple Thailand website or about 192USD. It's only 149USD in the US on the Apple USA website. |

just in thailand and cambodia and checked a number of places 8gb itouch was 7200 baht at apple stores in bangkok (US $225 or the same price as costco here) and US$200 at the market in phnom penh, you could possibly negoitate with one of the shops in mbk on the 3rd floor. thing is a legit apple store in thailand will be able get you the 7% vat refunded as you will be a tourist. think getting the vat refund is easy now at the airport.
at the duty free store at bkk it was 6400 baht
bottom line is price there is the same as korea in dollars |

Right on. I'm looking at the spacious 160GB classic model that will fit my music, videos, and data backup. A 160GB classic is $66 more in Korea than in the US. For Malaysia and Indonesia, it's coming up as the, "asia," site seemingly identical to the American site and says the 160GB class is US $249 just same as back home. I couldn't get prices on the Thai site.
I'll just get a new IPOD classic 160GB in Seoul this weekend for 379,000 won. Thanks for the pointer on the Apple site. |
