Fair enough- but it is not just soldiers doing it, so it is unfair to say that it's all their fault.
If you catch them doing something wrong, there are numbers to call to report them to the proper authorities. |

I guess that's a good point. His pops set up the norms though, he's just kept it up.

Maybe if you are hanging out with Koreans who exclusively visit Iteawon. But the general population, no way. Still not seen in high regards by some and even feared by others (regardless of whether it's true or not).
I have a few friends who were Catoosa (spelling?). Korean soldiers who work directly with the US military. All of them had positive experience and liked the soldiers. But, all of them have many stories of knucklehead behavior from their cohorts.
Regardless, people attacking the soldiers for what they do job-wise are being ignorant themselves. They serve a purpose and are necessary. |

| It always scares me to hear about and see women dating soldiers. What has our species come to if women line up to mate with killers. Wow that is heading in the right direction. |

I don't think so.. I think a lot of what we hear about North Korea is propaganda, of course not everything, sure treatment of civilians or his welfare system and childrens care etc.. BUT.. The Americans are trying to bury him, cut him off from the world with trade, sanctions etc.. so they are forced to spend everything on the military and brace for an Invasion!
America will Attack them! don't think they want! America needs that land position for a strategic stand point.. it flanks China, flanks Russia and opens up roads to Europe!
China and Russia know this and don't want USA near it..
USA get in there.. and the tip of North Korea will become a HUGE American military base! and we will ask questions.. umm the war is over..
why are the AMericans still here and why have they built a huge base in North Korea!??

What the frig do you know about how I see things? One thing I am not is simple. If women are mating with people with low IQ's and violent progarmming guess how the kids turn out most of the time. I guess I should have written an essay on how the awareness of the parents has a direct effect on how the kids turn out to feed your complicated mind.
American soldiers are the lowest of the low as far as our species goes. Women mating with them is horrible. More low lifes in the world is not what we need. 2010 and people still think war and killing is o.k. and people with university degrees defend their actions? |

regarding the sinking of the Cheonan.. South Korea deserved that and they know it.. the crew on board didn't deserve to die.. but they had that coming for the stuff that captain had been doing years before.. paybacks a bitch! |

They have pretended the world hasn't changed since the 50's. Cold War is over, but they have the same policies. Communism fell, their leaders wanted to keep control, so they kept running the show the same, but made up new excuses why it need to be that way. They brain wash their citizens, they take the countries money, spend lavishly, and let their people starve. They've kidnapped people from the South for entertainment, they've sent assassins into the ROK, they attacked ROK leaders in SE Asia.

Itaewonguy- I respect you and I like your posts.
But I don't believe the Cheonan deserved to be sunk. The previous skirmishes in the West/ Yellow Sea were usually provoked by the North.
Usually when the North went head-to-head with the ROKN, they get their asses handed to them in an unflattering way. It took a cheap shot by using a torpedo to score a "victory".

Why not go a step further and say ALL soldiers, everywhere are the lowest of the low?
They might seem that way to you, but when they leave the service, they have a whole agency ready to serve them from giving them free medical care for the rest of their lives to funding their schooling and give them money for a house and business- what do you get?
I was a soldier for 6 years (1988-1994), before I got out I got my BA in public administration and when I got out, I took the GRE and got a high enough score to get into Columbia University- do I have a low IQ?
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to be an English teacher. I was one from 1997 to 2003. It was so easy "a caveman can do it". I honestly don't know why you put more importance on being an English teacher when all it is, is mere windowdressing. I honestly think a person is dumbing themselves down by taking such a job.
The only thing people here are talking about are the infantrymen. But there are more jobs than that in the US Army and you need a higher than average GT score to be trained in them.
As for soldiers acting stupid when they party- So do most frat boys who go partying on Friday and Saturday nights. Whats the difference? |

sure the North have sent spies to the south.. but which country is not guilty of espionage?.
Tunnels?. well technically we are still at war.. so I mean the generals have jobs to do.. they do need to be prepared incase of a war for an offensive and defensive strategy.. I don't see them coming through the tunnels...
THE USA fly their drones and position their satellites over North Korea PLENTY OF TIMES to do surveillance.. maybe the North use their Tunnels to send in spies.. same same only different...

the Cheonan shot down one of the norths boats a couple years ago, and 2002 the south rammed a North Korean ship... when ever the north cross the so called border on the coast! the south fire! provoke! or shoot at them.. they dont just fire warning shots, they fire like 500 rounds!
the south Choenan has fired on the North a few times which has been reported! so that drunk captain of the cheonan got a missile right up the butt..

NO...they didnt... Park jun Hee was not liked .. he is respected now! but at the time he was a DICTATOR! and not a nice person!
At 10 a.m. on the Korean Independence day, August 15, 1974, she was shot and killed by Mun Segwang, a Japanese-born North Korean sympathizer, while Mun attempted to assassinate Park. Mun's first shot at Park Chung-hee missed. The second shot, aimed at Park Jong-gyu who tried to kill Mun, missed and killed Yuk instead. Park Jong-gyu's shot ricocheted off a wall and killed a high school student, Jang Bong-hwa
blew up airplanes in the 80's.. yeah they have done that...
but the South have done their fair share of things too... |
