Has anyone received a login for the pre-orientation thing yet? I haven't seen anything in my inbox yet.

Username is your email address, password is '0000' (four zeros). Change your password once you login. It should be the email address you put on your application.

Ah. Thank you much. Smile

Hey everyone...I was wondering if anyone else hasn't received their NoA yet? I sent my docs in July 9th, my recruiter said they received them, and I haven't heard a word since then. It would be nice to know if EPIK is just taking a long time or if my recruiter is sleeping on the job.

July 9th? You do realize you're on the waiting list right? They received mine around july 2. I called them and they told me I'm #5 on the waiting list. I don't you're that far behind me.

Uh, nope...no one ever mentioned the waiting list to me, I didn't even know there was one. I was scheduled an interview on the night of the 5th (US West Coast time), was notified that I passed on the 8th, and sent my docs in the next day, with no mention of waiting lists or anything.

How does this work then, if I'm accepted off the waiting list? Will I fly in later and miss the orientation? I really wish my recruiter would tell me what was going on.

Yea there is a waiting list. My recruiter is a jackass too, I had to call the EPIK in seoul to find out what's going too. Don't worry, there's gonna be another orientation at the end of September. It'll be short, like 5 days. Try calling seoul to find out where you are on the waiting list. I don't think you're that far behind me. I think for sure we're both going to the orientation in september.

Ok thanks, that's reassuring. So you called EPIK directly? I was told that contacting them directly would forfeit my application or something. Did you apply for Seoul, or elsewhere?

forfeit your application? whoever told you that is an idiot. I've called the multiple times and they've been helpful all those times. No, I applied for EPIK national.

My recruiter always said the same (ESL Planet), though he might use the word 'could,' with a little uncertainty. I have had no reason to contact EPIK though, as he always responds to me quickly with information. I applied early enough and got my stuff in so didn't need to go on a wait list. I'm just waiting for next Tuesday when I fly out for orientation.

I was told I passed the interview at the end of May and had my documents in in early June. What is the contact info for EPIK? It may be time to go around my not so useful recruiter. Also, I've been hearing rumors that POEs are avoiding taking people with higher pay grades. Any merit to those rumors?

Most people seem to be at level 2. What did you put down as qualified for?

early june?!? You seriously need to call EPIK because you should have gotten your contract already. The number is +82 2 3668 1400. You can go to the EPIK website to confirm it. It's at the bottom of the web page. About the higher grade pays, I heard that too. But it shouldn't affect you because you turn yours in pretty early. Hopefully you're number 1 on the waiting list.

I was told I qualified at level 1. Stupid TESOL certificate. May have cost me a job.
