| It is the norm in Korea for parents to support their children in every way until they obtain a good job and can afford to pay them back by allowing them to live in their homes. |
Most of them continue to be supported up until the wedding day, and in some cases even after their wedding!
I've heard of (and met) plenty of mid-late 20somethings who have jobs, live at home, don't contribute anything toward the house costs because their parents think they have to "save for the future". Some of them are still given new outfits from the department store, purchased of course using Daddy's credit card. Imagine that. No financial concerns until you are married.
When I ask these parents if their children will support them when they are old and retired, most of them seem to think that they won't. |

There is nothing wrong with being a horny noob! Hence the laughing emoticon I used. If you're in this thread with a 2009 or 2010 sign on date, you're a horny noob. If you don't admit it, you're in the closet about it. I'm a horny vet myself! Boi~oi~oi~oi~oing
That said, you'll find the best experiences with women come from not following much advice on this website. It's best to just get out in the field and do a little personal ethnographic research and really get into the research. Horny noobs... |

That being said, Korea is the most materialistic country in the world. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. You can search it on here if you want, someone posted a research report that proves that fact.

That actually wasn't a "research report" it was a poll and they tied with China for the top.
Not to mention that one poll is hardly decent evidence of any kind. |

Regardless, it's showcased nearly anywhere you look in my opinion. That's not to say there aren't amazing women who don't really care about your finances at all. There are.
As far as taking advice on this board, from what I've read you couldn't be more right. I was simply giving my opinion on whether girls would be less likely to care about how poor you are if you try to meet them on campus.

Reading this forum I chuckled to myself thinking of "Coming to America" where the barber (Eddie Murphy) explains where & how to meet "good clean girls"
Library
Church
I'd also like to add:
Music festival (not Jisan)
cultural movie theatre
park
think of places where you can have fun w/o spending money. They girls that will be there will be of the same mind, making you're effort to keep your budget easier.
unless you were in a university class I'd stay far from any school- you will be recognized as some old geezer trying to pickup the hens-- unless you go for faculty |

| to pick up girls.... you are in Korea, do it the Korean way: ask a friend if they know a girl your age for a blind date. That's how it's done here. |

You know, I've heard that one, but I've never actually done a blind date here. Not once. I did have "You are handsome guy" and I said "You are beautiful. Why don't we get some lunch?" a couple times. Met some girls in clubs. Met some girls online. But never a blind date. I helped a lady in class arrange a blind date for a guy getting close to ajosshi age, but he was completely awkward and conservative, and the girl actually ended up liking me.
Of course, if you work at an adult hagwon and look and act decent, you will have a pretty hard time keeping women away unless you're already in a relationship. |

DutchTouch and tiger fancini have got the facts. They know the score. Take notes.
I teach at colleges exclusively, and yeah, there's a mix of women (that I can't date).
Many want the finer things in life (MCM, Coach, tiny apartment in Gangnam, et al) and some are more idealistic about knowing a guy as a person (new generation thought).
I don't know if I'd try to pick up women there (on campus), but find where they congregate in the night.
They still want dudes with money. This is still Korea. Get real.
My advice is to be born ten years earlier (or better) and then come to Korea at the same age you are now. They may be more open-minded then. |

| I picked up a few girls at a beach concert in naksan by walking around without my shirt on. I enjoyed the boldness of these girls haha |
