Yeah I know taboo right?
Well I worked with this recruiter for my first job and sent my docs as well and they were able to get me a job quickly.
I guess it was dumb on my part to think it would work out the same way again and now I'm suffering the consequences.
I'm trying to go with public schools and they've sent me about 3 schools in 4 months. I'm getting impatient as I could definitely be applying to other jobs if I had my docs.
My question is, what if I applied for some other jobs or recruiters anyways, and if I got the job, what would be some ways I could get my docs from the recruiter to the other job?
I highly doubt they would send the docs directly to another job or competing recruiter. |

Try asking your recruiter nicely? You never know - I was in the same situation; the first recruiter I worked with required that I send them my documents, but I never got any job offers from them. I eventually got a placement through another recruiter, so I asked the first recruiter if they could forward my docs on and they did, no hard feelings!
I think most recruiters don't necessarily like the fact that you are working through multiples (and the practice of sending your docs ahead of time is meant to discourage this, naturally), but realistically in this job market, you've got to.
One key issue to worry about if you're trying for public schools - make sure you don't fill out your EPIK / GEPIK / SMOE app or whatever more than once. I assume you know this already, but there was a thread posted a few days ago by some poor soul who disqualified himself because he submitted multiple apps. Good luck! |
