I recently found a great dentist in Anyang. He speaks English very well. His staff doesn't but they are really nice. His office is very clean which has scared me away from many other dental clinics in Korea.

He is located in Pak-dal-dong. It's about a 20 minute walk from Anyang Station or about 2,000 won cab ride.

His clinic is called Miso-Sam Dental Clinic.
The dentist's name is Kim In-Tae.

So if you are looking for a dentist in Anyang,
give the clinic a call at 441-2872.

He's not pricey. A gold crown is 300,000 (much cheaper than in the US or Canada unless you have dental insurance). Fillings vary based on size and material. He gives a cash discount.

dental work has been unceasing for me in Korea: i was there again this morning...
Generally, I think they do a good job here, even if they take multiple appointments to get it finished.

Thanks. I don't actually need anything done - well, that I am aware of anyway. But there is no way in hell that I am getting any gold crowns, or anything metallic put on my teeth. It makes me shudder thinking about sporty spices row of silver teeth. they were disgusting.

so if i ring these people, they should be able to direct me there in decent english?

Yes, the dentist will be able to give you directions in English but if you are planning on taking a taxi then you'll need to get the directions in Korean.

You know, this is a bit freaky, but yesterday, I was teaching a class, and one of my students opened the window, so we were looking out, being lazy, etc, and he was talking to me about the buildings across the road, and I noticed a dentist there, so i wrote down the number, thinking it would be funny if it was the same dentist that you were talking about, and would you beleive it, it is!! How about that for random coincidences, from all the possible dentists in Pakdal dong, this one right by my school, is the right one. At least I know where it is now, so have no more excuses about not going.

Already posted this question in another thread in the Q&A section, but since you have already mentioned it here, I'll ask it again: Does anyone have a dentist reccomendation in Seoul?

I know this thread is dead old, but I just got some work done in Anyang and thought I'd mention the place.

증앙치과 (Jungang Chigwa), 031-388-5381.

This is located near Bomgye station. The dentist and one of his assistants speak a little English. I think the dentist actually speaks more English than he let on. Everyone is friendly though the women will giggle when they speak English.

I had a general appt, cleaning and an x-ray, total cost 6700 won.

I then had a giant cavity filled. He had to remove an old filling and put in a new one. I said I hated gold, so they used a silver amalgam. It was 8,000 won and took less than an hour. I said, "I need more Novocaine than usual and I need extra time to let the Novocaine work." Very understanding. (Compare that to a dentist I never saw again in the US who said, "I don't have time to wait for you.")

They don't wear gloves, which is the only super freaky part.

If you don't speak ANY Korean, you may want to bring a friend or have a friend write a note. If you speak a little Korean, I think you'll be fine.

Exit Bomgye station number 2, walk straight to the second fountain. Turn to the left. You'll see a Converse shoe store on the right side building. The dentist is in the building on the left side. Fourth or fifth floor, green sign outside.

I think they're open till 7 or 7:30 on weekdays, not 100% sure.
