Im an F2 visa holder having payment problems. I started a job on an After School Program 3 months ago. The problem is is I am not being paid in full nor am I being paid on time. My first paycheck was ok. The second month's paycheck, I had to call the boss and ask him where was my money. He put it in the bank late on the evening of payday, but with a 10% deduction. I asked him about this and he said he would return it at the end of my contract. He said it was 'savings for me'. I was not happy with this, and by the way this 10% deduction is not in my contract. Yesterday was my payday, no sign of any of it. I checked my account through the evening but no. I got in touch with him this morning and he wanted me to sign a contract to over-ride the original one. He lodged my wages eventually today. However I was 700,000WON short. He says this is because my teaching wasnt up to scratch. What should I do? Should I resign on the spot or should I give a month's notice? If I'm getting paid for work why should I carry on there for another. I am quitting but whats the best way. I will be going to the Labor Court.

Dude you need to not take any shit. What is going on is partially your fault. You never allow anyone to push you around when it comes to getting your paycheck. The only reason why is because you showed him he could do this to you. Unfortunately, I too have been down this road. I was owed 3 million from work that the boss refused to pay for. Well I do not even have a contract with the school, and she said "I did not make a contract so I am not laible to pay you." I went to the labor board and they could not help me because I did not have a formal contract with the psycho b****. The labor board told me to take her to court, so I did and won!

But why don't you get your wife on the phone and bitch the guy out. It's obvious that he is making you into a chump. No Korean would accept this, so why do you. Take charge, but do it respectfully! Don't burn bridge

Also is this your full time job? Before you go to court you need to go with your wife to have a"sit down" and get shit straightened out. If he refuses go to court and make sure the boss over him knows. But before get your
Wife involved and try to fix it yourself! He made you look like a chump by saying to you, a married man, "it's a savings account". What the. HELL is that?

Also, that over ride contract......lol
Pm me if you want some more serious advice

You are not a child that needs to have someone save on your behalf. And even if you did need it, it's not his right.

You say yesterday was payday? Lucky you. Don't go to work tomorrow and file with labor board immediately.

Unless you are so hard up for cash that you're living paycheck to paycheck, he will lose more than you do when you don't show up tomorrow. He will either give you what you want to return to work or ose a lot of money as he starts bleeding students.

Is it your full time job? What does your wife think? Most Korean women would breath fire if this happened to their husbands. This happened to you because they did it to another foreigner before you came...

Before you go to work....arrange a sit down and until they do that....they are not taking you seriously
Again....pm me for more serious responses

It may be your only job, but from one F2 to another, IMO an after school program isn't a "full time job".

To each their own.

Tourist, don't go to work tomorrow. call your boss in the morning and tell him he has until 1 pm to get you your pay or you are not coming.

Watch him scramble, and don't listen to any threats. You have an F visa, you are golden.

Call your contact at your school, principal, whatever, and say that you haven't been paid. Then they'll probably be pissed at your "boss" because they've paid him. Tell them you're stopping until you're paid. If they want to pay you directly that's fine. Try to screw this middle man.

Even if you get paid, you need to find another job, unless you can deal directly with the school.

Thanks Ladies and Gents, I've been in touch via my wife with my crooked boss. I told him I wasn't going anywhere near work til every last cent he owed me was in my account. That was an hour ago, it's 11:07pm now and still not paid. He has until midnight, the f**king pr**k.
