Hi everyone,

My girlfriend and I have been offered a job interview with this school. The agent has been really nice and helpful etc and I'm thinking there won't be a problem. However we are complete beginners so any info on the school would be great. Here is the link I was sent:

Name of School: iSPONGE English school == > http://eng.ispongeenglish.com/

Thanks a million for your help people !

First thing, it isn't a school, it's a hagwon (learning center).

I'm sure I've heard the name before but I don't remember what was said about it. Do a search of this forum to find the old thread. The search function on this forum is often on the fritz, so use Google. Type the following into the search box.

Thanks a million Trog - that's been enlightening.

It has no specifics about the Daegu outlet but there is bad press about a Seoul outlet - its even been black listed on the ESL watch dog site. Is it possible that the Daegu Hagwon is good if this is the info i found?

Is it possible = yes.
Would I depend on it without checking with the other native speakers there = no.

Additionally, I would make damn sure I had a spare set of documents so as to have the ability to change jobs if necessary (without the employers permission or blessing).

Ya we have been thinking and are going to take multiple copies of all necessary documents to Korea when we finally get there ! thinking everything x 10 may as well get a ton of stuff apostilled as just the minimum.

I imagine you would never give your original degree scroll to anyone ya?

Do you know the location in Daegu? I work near the one in Chimsandong, but I'm pretty sure there are several.

It's the one in "Suseong-Gu, Daegu-City" according to my agent. Are you working in an iSponge or a different establishment ?

Really appreciate all the help folks.

I work at a different hagwon. Suseong is a pretty affluent area near downtown Daegu (although it spreads way East), with tons of Hagwons. It's a good, modern location, for the most part. Unfortunately, I really don't know much about I-Sponge.
