Item: Tripod.
Question: General location in which to find one.
Specifics: Rather not have to traipse around Seoul to get it.
Conclusion: Thanks in advance. |

Well if this isn't the most irritating site in the world.
- Fill in registration
- Press submit
- *please check your ID to avoid duplication
- I check ID
- Press submit
- The button is no longer acknowledged as a button. Nothing happens.
- Restart and repeat process
- Same result.
Great, I can't register!*hates world* |

It's a korean site so treat it like a child.
What browser are you using? You have to use I.E. (although the latest opera also works)
I know the feeling had the problem with the Asiana site, why on earth do they insist on having your name all in caps with no gaps between it and the warning message being check your name |

Yongsan electronics market or Living & Digital, Namdaemun (across the street from the gate that burned a few years ago), Chungmuro. Even some Hi-marts stock tripods, but they were too pricey. |

I used Chrome but I got my friend to do the same for me in IE (Since I refuse to install it), to the same result. At best it linked her back to the original page for no reason.
I'll try this Living & Digital place, I've been to the Yongsan place before. |

Ever tried 'Chrome IE Tab'?
(BTW, IE 6 is a total shite and works wonder with Korean websites, especially when some sort of payment is involved) |

Do you need some crappy, spindly thing to hold up your digital camera while you and your girlfriend do a kimchi, or do you need a serious piece of engineering to give a nice, clean movement to your panning shots?
If it's the former, any camera shop should be able to fix you up. If it's the latter, and if you only need it for a short time, I have a Manfrotto you could borrow if you're able to come over to the west coast to pick it up. It's not top of the line but it's pretty damn good. I've used it with my DVX-100 with good results. |

West coast is a bit far. I don't have a girlfriend and I'm not too keen on kimchi, but my uses are somewhere in between. Just somebody who appreciates existence and sometimes wants to get a nice steady shot or pan.
I ended up resigning to Yongsan as suggested. It's always fun to haggle there. I got a supposedly 160k tripod down to 60k, slightly above the manufacture price according to the paper.
Then I did the same with a 580k camera (online) and got it for 340k. The manager watching the whole argument between me and the salesman did not look happy that he somehow only got 10k out of it. Ah well.
This combination should be perfect for my needs. All I need to do now is destroy the Korean internet out of spite. |
