No, no I'm talking about the one at Noksapyong. I want to sell my books and WTB only gives store credit. |

The guy at Noksapyeon DOES buy used books.
Real cheapo prices though, so much so that I turned him down and gave them away for free out of spite. |

Huh, really? How much was he offering? Any good places that will buy used books? WTB said they'd give store credit, 30 to 50% of the list price, for used books. |

Over a year ago, so exact details fuzzy. He was basicaly being a cheapskate. Also trying to sell me a paperback from the 1970 print, worn tattered and with the price of 50 cents on the back and claiming it was as valid a price as a much newer one. I was like 'I'm going to pay the eqvt of 5 dollars when the price on that is 50 cents and the pages are all yellow?" It was just a classic that you can buy anywhere, nothing rare or anything like that. |

That stinks. I really need to find a place that buys books though. My apt is getting smaller and smaller. |

I'll post the list tomorrow. I just got back from vacation and bought five more books. I've got to organise myself first. |

List them on the buy-sell forum. I'm sure you'll find someone there.
Or alternatively, see if someone else wants the credit at WTB and just sell the credit. |

Haha, that old hag at the bookstore laughed at me after hearing how much I wanted for my books. Ended up getting twelve bucks or so for about 45 books, most of which are popular if not bestsellers (all purchased in the 15-30K range at the main racks at Kyobo over the past several months). Had to get rid of em though. He's probably laughing his way to the bank. |

Yes, the best choice is to put them up on this board for sale. You won't get any cash from any of the cheapo bookstores in Korea(especially the dingy little hovel in Noksapyeong). |

Exactly!
I saw a Tarot book there I wanted to buy, so I added it to my pile. When I took it to the counter I asked for a discount because it was too dog-eared and stained to be worth the bookstore's asking price. I was happy to pay the ticket price on the other 2 or 3 books I had selected. The woman at the counter wouldn't budge so I didn't buy it (I recently bought the same book from Amazon, expensive but brand new and in mint condition). I don't care about throw away novels, but reference books I'd like to keep need to be in pretty decent condition. I don't try to haggle on every purchase, so when I do ask for a discount I don't think I'm being unreasonable. Anyway, I don't bother shopping there any more. |

Yeah, hey, is that old guy still there at that Noksapyeong joint? That bastard was real cheap with me one time and I vowed never to return there. And I never have. That was many years ago. Just sell your books on this board |

Yup same dude. He's very polite and firendly otherwise, usually gives out free little vita drinks etc in winter. Just cheap when it comes to prices and will not budge on a price. |
