Just curious to know if anybody out there owns a Jeep. I got a 1995 Wrangler.

I'm curious as to what kind of trails Korea has. I know they have 4x4 clubs. The autumn back in Oregon is the best time to go off road. -sigh-

Back home I have a '94 Jeep Cherokee Sport.

Thing drives like a boat now that the suspension is shot, but I don't care. I wouldn't drive anything else...

Edit: Looking closer, it appear your idea of a Jeep and mine may be different. But please don't judge. I love having space to cart all my junk around.

It's all good. The Jeep messageboard is for wrangler owners but anybody with a Jeep is a "Jeeper".

During my deskwarming I like to watch 'off roading' videos on youtube. Especially the ones where people roll their rides...ouch!

I like the old FJ cruisers from the late 60s and 70s. They look really rugged. I see some on ebay for like $10 grand...yikes. The new FJ's are really nice. They have 3 windshield wipers...very cool.

Does anyone else love the dudes that wear Jeep CLOTHING, and drive the Korean equivalent of a Geo Tracker?

When I was 21 I bought a used 1995 Wrangler with the 4 cylinder engine and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I tried to go "off roading" one time and that motor was way underpowered and I couldn't do anything with it.

If your gonna buy a Wrangler and take it off road you definitely need the 6 cylinder. I got rid of it after that summer and I always wanted to buy a newer nicer one but I never got around to it.

What engine did/does everyone else have?

I drive a 2005 Korando with diesel 2.9 L Mercedes-Benz engine, black with tinted windows. It's the only thing other than a Jeep that I'd own and really the only practical option in South Korea.

1981 Wagoneer, 360 CI V-8, 1997 Jeep TJ Sport 4.0L 5 speed, 2002 Jeep Wrangler X 4.0, 5 speed.

Miss the Wagon, that thing was awesome, but it only got 10.8 miles to the gallon (combined). Of course, when I drove that thing, gas was 95 cents a gallon, so it was all good. Blew a rod, sent it through the cylinder wall and that was all she wrote.

Got the 97 Wrangler, drove it for a year. Loved it, wish I still had it. But, September 11th happened and financing deals got a lot sweeter so I traded it in for the '02. Ended up paying the SAME amount for the '02 as I was for the '97, but it was a lower model (it did have the hardtop though).

My plans for the future include building a CJ-7 from scratch, dropping in a 401 V-8 (cuz if you're going to blow the money on a toy, it better be fun), probably some 33's, Dana 60's all around, PTO winch, the whole nine yards. Possibly a CJ-8. Really like those 8's, but 2 seats sucks.

So yeah, I'm a jeeper.

Nice. One of my desk warming hobbies is to cruise the Craigslist used car section. I type in 'Jeep YJ' and see what is out there.

What is the appeal of the YJ? Square headlights, engine troubles, I just cannot like the 87-95 models.

My YJ fell into my lap. My sister owned it before me. She never took it off road. It only has 100k miles on it. It runs like a champ (4L 5 speed) and looks great (see Wrangler forum link above).

The square headlight thing...well...i don't know what jeep was thinking. You can buy grill conversion kits to change the headlights to 'round' for $600 online. I'm just not that bothered by it. I just like that there are so many parts out there for mods and upgrades on the cheap.

That would make your kid a jeeper....not you.

I have seen a bunch of Jeep clothes, hats, etc. around. Does anybody know where this stuff is being sold?

Jeepers run in my family. My dad had a CJ-5 before I was born.
