How much can I expect to pay for a place to stay in Bohol? My friend is thinking of renting a villa for $34 dollars a night or another one (further from the beach) for $22. This doesnt sound that cheap to me tho, any ideas?

A lot of hotels do not advertise their uber-cheap rooms on the site. You have to call or e-mail and ask for them.

Just for one, Bohol Diver's Resort had rooms for 500 pesos or so. They were fan rooms, and probably not very good. But if saving pennies is your plan, it can be done.

Try calling a few and ask for a 'fan room'.

A pension on Bohol (not Panglao island (Alona beach)) will run p500-800.

You can often get a nipa hut on or next to the beach for similar prices.
(they are not advertised and you will have to hike along the beach and ask for them).

A bungalow on the beach at Alona with aircon will run p2000.
A deluxe villa with all the mod-cons will run p5000.
A 5* will run about p10k.

All prices per night - many include breakfast.

Just avoid the fuss and get a fan room at Alona Tropical. You won't regret it.

I agree - room number 2 or 3 are best.
