Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good recruiter. I have been trying to get a job in Korea for some time now, and I am getting a bit frustrated. I have all of my visa documents and I am ready to leave for Korea as soon as possible. Can anyone help me get a job?

Thanks

I've heard Korvia is good and ASK Now. Also try planet ESL.

Have you posted your resume to Dave's? I did that the other day and my inbox is flooded with recruiters looking to place me. Though I haven't heard anything from them after I replied Laughing

Same thing happened to me. Now I'm just on a bunch of mailing lists, most of whom don't even reply.

I worked with Korvia and they have been great. I originally started with Aclipse, but always felt they were being dishonest. Eventually I gave up on them because I always felt I was being pressured and NEVER was I being listened to.

Korvia definitely set me up well. Once they get you all squared away on the application you won't hear a lot from them, but it was fine everything they told me was true. It was nice not having to worry about where to send things, you just give them all to them.

Jiyeon from Planet ESL helped me. Super helpful. Also, if you aren't picky about location, you'll find a job faster.

go with worknplay, b2corea or esl planet. all of them were completely honest when they sent me jobs or called me. korvia were a pain to contact them and when i finally got to speak with them the brushed me away. told me to send the resume bs. definately would never recommend to anyone to work with them.

If you're interested in public schools try:
Korean Horizons
Korvia
Footprints (Recruits for Hagwons too)

You can try these guys, but I haven't made any progress with them:
Adventure Teaching
Say Kimchi
ESL Planet
Teach ESL Korea
Flying Cows

Waste of time:
Travel and Teach
Gone2Korea

I've got an interview with adventure teaching tomorrow. Say Kimchi has been useless so far, ESL Planet has been helpful, teacheslkorea got me my first job but I haven't heard from them in almost 2 months, just applied with flying cows yesterday.

Gone2Korea never got back to me.

My fiance and I have been working with some pretty wonderful recruiters actually, here's a list of the ones I thought were decent:

1. Top pick- Eunice Kim w/ Star Teachers (www.starteachers.net) she has been AMAZING. very helpful, communicative, and the most real out of all the recruiters we spoke to (a lot). We were very sad to turn down positions with her, but the locations just weren't as good as other offers.
2. Christina with ATC- Found us couples jobs with Busan public schools, very responsive. pushed us for public in the first phone call though, even though we wanted a hagwon. Didn't go with the offer in the end because I'm too broke to pay my airfare out. Sad
3. Pamela Ji with VOU Agency- she is the one we actually signed with. Got us a couple's position in Hanam. She spent HOURS (perhaps days) revising the contract to meet all of our specifications, and was very very helpful.
4. Paul with TEIK- very real and honest. Most of TEIK's positions were rural public schools right now though. And they want you to buy into their visa processing program.
5. David with KorJobs- interviews with Avalon schools- based out of canada. Very responsive and friendly.

Hope this helps those of you still looking for a decent recruiter. We contacted tons of them, but these were the best I think.

I was hesitant, but Sean Yoon has been really great with me, but can be a little slow to get back to you and the hagwons are kind of small, but still seem like pretty great places to work from the interviews I've had.

Tony Ahn at Gloii got me some awesome interviews with public schools in the Gyeonggi-do area.

Dylan at DFL Recruitment is SOO nice, but he usually gives you positions away from big cities .
