Special Chuseok Events at the KTO Headquarters
Not sure what to do during Chuseok, when it seems like youre the only one left in Seoul? Then stop by the Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) Headquarters (Seoul-si Jung-gu Cheongyecheon-ro 40) for a variety of hands-on activities and information on the sights and sounds of Korea. The Tourism Information Center is located on the basement level of the KTO and will be open throughout the entire Chuseok holiday, from September 21st to 23rd.
By visiting the Tourism Information Center, travelers will not only be able to get all their questions answered about local attractions and events, but will also be able to participate in a number of hands-on activities such as trying on Hanbok (traditional Korean garb) or playing folk games. Facilities at the TIC include a tourist information desk, a shop selling award-winning Korean handicrafts, a video room, and a Hallyu Center where guests can pose with cutouts of their favorite Korean stars.
Reservations are not required to participate in any of these events and staff will be standing by to provide visitors with assistance in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese.
The Tourism Information Center (TIC) at the KTO offers monthly hands-on cultural activities including a Korean arts & crafts workshop, trying on Hanbok, and giving out Korean names. Events will be held September 12th to 28th; October 11th to 16th; November 15th to 20th; and December 13th to 18th.
