has anyone heard of a school called English Friends in Seoul? or what about the little school on the hill?

I am thinking about returning to korea to teach and was wondering what the job market is like? for reputable schools.
thanks!

I worked at English Friends a long time ago, for two years. The salary was on the low side but I was treated well and had a good relationship with the owner, Sung Soon.

Since then I've heard negative reports but I haven't made up my mind if the school has changed or if it's just whining I'm hearing. I only know what I know - I was done well by them for two years, as were my co-workers. No one was screwed over during that period.

Where to begin? Four of the five western teachers have recently quit as has one of the Koreans (and three of the Korean music teachers from the affiliated academy)
1 blatant lying about things we can easily check up on with eachother.
2 confiscating my passport until I threatened to go to the police
3 refused to give me my residence ID card
4 paying late every single month
5 trying to change peoples contracts after signing
6 lying to the parents of the kids
7 if you want a laugh try speaking english to the head (korean) teacher
One english girl who had previously taught at another hagwon stuck it for 3 weeks and then told us it was a joke. It's only been open one year and all the teachers were first timers so I guess we stuck it 'cos we knew no better. If you think I'm exaggerating try working there!

Interesting.....do you think eslcafe will still exist 20 years from now? If so, people could be bumping 27.5 year old threads. And they will all be the same. For kicks one day at work I decided to read the first 20 pages or so from the jobs and general forums. Nothing changes. Any post from 2003 could easily have been made in 2010, and vice-versa.
